How to Become a Qualified Microblading Practitioner

What is Microblading

Microblading is a process to transform your eyebrows. Get thick, lush, prominent and lovely well-shaped eyebrows using cosmetic micro-tattooing techniques. Tiny extra eye-brow lines ('hairs') are precisely added to your eyebrows using a small handheld tool that manually draws 'hair' strokes with pigments that are injected just under the skin.

The treatment is semi-permanent and may need to be redone after 9-36 months. With appropriate after-care the life of your new lush eyebrows can be extended to its maximum.

Microblading is a semi-permanent tattooing process that creates the illusion of fuller and better shaped and well-defined and highlighted eye brows. This process can craft an array of wonderful looks and persona. The options include light and delicate enhancements that add natural light touch-ups to beautifully natural brows.

The Microblading Process

Each treatment always begins with a detail discussion with the client about what they want and what can be achieved. The color, boldness and fullness they desire for their brows are discussed using photographs and eye pencils to simulate the effects they desire. Colors are chosen that match the natural skin and hair color of each individual client.

Before starting the treatment the eyebrow region on each side of the face is thoroughly prepared and cleaned. Mild local anaesthetic is then applied to numb the region for the treatment. A small handheld, micro, cosmetic tattoo machine is then used to manually draw a suite of hair strokes to enhance and highlight each of your eyebrows.

Finally, creams are applied to help with the after-care healing process. Instructions are provided to the client about how to care for their new brows to prolong their life.

How long Does a Microblading Treatment Last?

A full treatment generally takes from 30 to 40 minutes, depending on the fullness and density you want for you eyebrow appearance. Clients are required to undertake brief follow up appointments 4 to 6 weeks after treatment to ensure they are happy with the results. Small adjustment and tweaks can be made at this time after the healing process has been completed.

Treatments generally last 1-3 year, depending on your activity, sun exposure and skin type. The ink pigments fade quicker on oily and fair skins. After-care products and changes to your lifestyle can prolong the life of your microblading.

Sunscreens help to preserve your eyebrow lines and to prevent against fading from the sun. Certain chemicals such as Retin-A or retinol products should also be avoided before and after an appointment.

Another precaution is not to wet the brows for a week or two and not to go swimming while they heal. Also do not apply any makeup to the area for a week or two.
